FBI Detroit Citizens Academy
There are some requirements to be accepted into the FBI Detroit Citizens Academy.
- You must be 21 years or older at the time of application to be considered for approval.
- You must be nominated by an FBI employee, agent, associate, or by a current and active FBI Detroit Citizens Academy Alumni Association Member.
- You must be able to pass an FBI background investigation for a temporary security clearance. This is not only for the safety of the FBI and the academy, but also for the information accessed in this program.
- This academy is held at the FBI Detroit Field Office. You must live or work near the Detroit Field Office to be considered for the academy.
If you meet the above requirements, but have not yet been nominated, we would ask that you request to be reviewed for a nomination before you apply to the Citizens Academy.

The FBI Detroit Citizens Academy Alumni Association is reviewing potential candidates for the 2019 FBI Detroit Citizens Academy. We will process your application as quickly as possible, but please allow us at least 30 days to review your submission.
